Albany County LWV is cosponsoring Candidate Forums for three school districts. | Message from the President
Hello Members and Friends,
How many days has it been - 120? Media is focused on executive actions, turmoil, disputes, and court battles. What is the League doing? The League declared a constitutional crisis, sued for voting rights, promoted Unite and Rise, and Women Defend Democracy. Please, click the links, and join in the action.
At the NYS League level, experts and lobbyists have fought for budget items and bills to support environmental, health, and other public needs. We have a NYS budget finally, but the work goes on. The Legislative Session continues through June 12, 2025. We do not know yet how federal funding choices will impact NYS.
What of our local leagues? We go about our business: registering voters, contacting our representatives, monitoring local government, standing up for our rights, holding candidate forums. If you joined because you care, you’re in the right place. Come work with us.
In League,
